Xel-Há River Tour

Feel the fresh and cool water of underground rivers

Included in your admission

Xel-Há inlet is a one-of-a-kind place in the world. Several underground rivers that are part of the longest river system on the planet flow into it, connecting through the Xel-Há River. The phenomena of thermocline and halocline occur due to the mixture of freshwater with the warmer waters of the Caribbean Sea. When combined, they create exceptional conditions for the formation of ecosystems, allowing a great variety of marine vegetation and fish.

Xel-Há River Tour starts in the mangrove area, and you will have a fun ride, where you can choose to snorkel to observe the underwater landscape. If you prefer, you can take one of the floating inner tubes for two people or individuals and let yourself go with the flow, enjoying the view.

In addition, along the River Tour, there are different activities to have an adventure and feel a bit of adrenaline. Places such as the Cliff of Courage, the Trepachanga, and the Salpichanga, will make you vibrate and get soaking wet by throwing yourself off a rock, sliding by zip-lines, or crossing parallel ropes from one point to another, trying not to fall into the water. Enjoy the river, and at the end, explore the enormous inlet of Xel-Há.
