Experience one of the region’s oldest traditions: the Sacred Journey. Every year, Xcaret recreates a canoe pilgrimage to the island of Cozumel to hear an oracle.

In exchange for offerings and a message of great importance to their community, the oarsmen and oarswomen would bring those words back home amid a grand celebration.

You can participate as a canoer (you must register and train for six months at the venues defined by the park), or as a visitor in the ceremonies to farewell and welcome the canoers.
