In the middle of Xcaret’s tropical vegetation, you can visit a quiet lagoon where you can distinguish its inhabitants moving in the bottom: Pompom and Nohoch.
Pompom and Nohoch are two rescued manatees who have their home in this lagoon. It is specially for them, because it has the right depth and temperature for their care and conservation. Here, they are fed and meticulously monitored by experts in the care and protection of marine mammals.
Manatees are a very curious species: they have a body similar to a whale, fins like seals, and the face of a sea lion. Despite its large size (up to 1,100 pounds), they are very calm and affectionate. Pompom and Nohoch love slow swimming, eating, and above all, resting.

- The price includes the Tax on Expenditures for Participating in Activities with Aquatic Animals (ISEPAAA in Spanish), in accordance with the laws of the State of Quintana Roo, amounting to a fee of 50.00 MXN per person.
- Individuals who prove their residence in the State of Quintana Roo by means of valid official documentation (INE, driver's license, FM2, FM3, temporary or permanent residence issued in Quintana Roo) will be exempt from payment of this tax, only if the purchase of the activity is made directly at the ticket booths of Xcaret or Xel-Há parks. This exemption does not apply to purchases made online or through other digital channels.
