Meet our Conservation Team

More than 150 specialists, including biologists, ethologists, veterinarians, and engineers, join forces to meet the needs of our animals:

We are conservation!

Ethology and animal welfare

Ethology and animal welfare

Our main interest is the well-being of the species. For this reason, we have specialists who evaluate and implement strategies to promote the well-being of all the animals under our care.
Aquatic ecology

Aquatic ecology

We take care of the care of the marine species and the daily operation of the Aquarium at Xcaret Park and the impressive jellyfish at La Casa De La Playa.
We ensure that our habitats are attractive to visitors and, at the same time, provide everything the species need while implementing breeding and conservation programs.
Bird ecology

Bird ecology

We are a multidisciplinary team that takes care of all the birds in Xcaret, Xenses, and Xplor parks, as well as those that live in Xcaret Hotels, from small quails to beautiful flamingos that parade in our facilities.
We care for and conserve the internal flamingo habitats in 4 points of the park. We lead the Flamingo Parade and the Macaw Flight activity, which are perfect spaces to provide environmental education messages.
Equines

Equines

We are ready every morning to help the equines with everything they need, which is what we enjoy doing the most. One of our passions is to share our culture and love for charrería.
We care for four species of horses and provide them with the necessities for their well-being. These equines are part of our equestrian show and representatives of our cultural heritage.
Mammalian ecology

Mammalian ecology

We care for and attend to the great majority of the park's animals, from monkeys, jaguars, tapirs, pumas, deer, and many more, taking care of all their needs.
In addition, we frequently give talks on environmental education, which is our favorite activity. We also monitor and relocate wild species that could pose a risk for visitors and/or staffs, such as iguanas, snakes, or even crocodiles.
BUTTERFLY PAVILLION

BUTTERFLY PAVILLION

Every day, we wake up excited about our activities. We take care of the Butterfly Reproduction Program. In the habitat designed for these insects, we collect butterfly eggs, classify them, and care for them until they become butterflies.
We give daily educational talks so that more people learn to conserve our ecosystem. A major part of our work focuses on the conservation of the region's flora. That is why we run a nursery that allows us to offer them fresh food every day.
Nutrition

Nutrition

We are responsible for filling our specimens with energy, joy, and strength through balanced nutrition.
We formulate and preparate diets to take care of the health of our specimens. Each species has its own diet, which is based on the needs of the specimen and its daily activities.
Animal health

Animal health

We love to help, and we always do it with love, respect, and care. We are in charge of monitoring the health of the specimens, diagnosing, controlling, and eradicating diseases in the species through innovative animal health techniques.
We have one of the most complete veterinary hospitals in the region, in addition to a laboratory for processing medical samples, X-rays, ultrasound, and a pharmacy. Also, in our sea turtle hospital, we treat, rehabilitate, and reintroduce injured sea turtles that arrive at our facilities, all in compliance with the law and in conjunction with PROFEPA.
Communication for conservation

Communication for conservation

Our love for the specimens is unmatched. We make our work the best day by day. We communicate the activities of the conservation area to all our stakeholders.
We are a passionate and enthusiastic team in charge of spreading all the messages so that visitors and collaborators of the group get to know our species and learn from them, as well as promote a more friendly lifestyle within our ecosystem.
