What is Singles’ Day?
The Singles’ Day happens on November 11th, the date in which the pride of being single is celebrated, and what better way to do so than with a whole day of discounts and online promotions to buy, give away and enjoy being single and not being too.
How did Singles’ Day come about?
The Singles’ Day began as a joke among students at Nanjing University in China in 1993 with the intention of giving gifts to singles to support each other for not having a partner. The date 11/11 was chosen because 1 is the number that represents not having a companion since it is associated to a tree without leaves.
