Located on the highest point of Xcaret Park since 1995, the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel will charm you with its one of a kind architecture, where you may admire a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea and mother nature.

Here, as in the majority of Xcaret Park's attractions and buildings, the noble properties of native materials were ample used: the carved crucifix is made of sapodilla, the altar of limestone and the benches of thorn tree wood. The St. Francis of Assisi Chapel’s Cross is found 121 feet above sea level and also offers different details, such as a beautiful stone altar with a relic of St. Therese of Lisieux.

Sunday Mass is given in this beautiful oceanfront chapel at Xcaret that has witnessed the weddings of the rich and famous, baptisms and celebrations to give thanks for Life's abundance.

The St. Francis of Assisi Chapel in Xcaret is legally recognized by the Catholic Church, reason why Xcaret is one of the few places in the Mexican Caribbean to offer a wedding ceremony with Catholic validity.

The Chapel's decoration for weddings at Xcaret is totally refreshing and matches its surroundings; its wooden log benches under which you may find "gourds" with small lit candles illuminating the happy couple's path to the image of Christ carved on the beautiful, cross-shaped log, next to the baptismal font, in addition to the stone image of Our Lady of Guadalupe with the beautiful Caribbean Sea background.
