A tour of the interactive pre-Hispanic Mayan market. "Mayans and Trade: The Kii'wik, a journey to the past." |
Mayan Market (access through the market, in front of the tortilla shop, and on to the school.) |
A space where you can interact with products and people, much as the ancient Maya might have done. Here, you can see typical articles of the day: merchants bartering for cotton blankets, jade, feathers, copal incense, fruit, honey and cacao seeds, amongst others. The mix of colors, aromas and flavors of our Ancient Mexico; an important player in the ocean trade routes and the point of departure for Cozumel, site of the goddess Ixchel's temple. |
