Fourth Life and Death Traditions Festival
There’s a sweet smell of bread in all over Xcaret. Orange color of cempasúchitl covers every thing too and it is because we’re ready to celebrate the Fourth Life and Death Traditions Festival. This year, we’re very glad to have as our distinguished guest to Yucatan, our brotherly neighbor.
The Fourth Festival of Life and Death Traditions, to be celebrated from October 30th to November 2nd, will let see many cultural and artistic expressions related to the Day of the Dead. This is one of the most deeply rooted traditions of Mexico, which enhances to the world the mysticism of the pre-Columbian cultures and the cultural syncretism of our country.
Seeking to show the most representative of Mexico to the world, Xcaret has produced this festival since 2006. All Xcaret sceneries will be filled with the color and flavors of these dates which have a very special meaning for all Mexicans.
This year, Yucatan will share with Quintana Roo and visitors their handicrafts made from wood, sisal, bone and seeds, altars, artistic talent and the famous Yucatan cuisine.
With traditional altars, theater, music, food, visual arts, workshops and many more activities, Xcaret is preparing to celebrate the Day of the Dead. We invite you to join us and delight yourself with this tradition in the best scenery: the Mayan jungle, and the Caribbean Sea of Xcaret.
